Here’s a fascinating documentary on the “street side salons” of downtown Kingston done by Anna Alissa Alhousseini, a 23 year old exchange student from Germany and Niger (West Africa) who was studying at UWI in 2008. Anna is studying “Cinema and Media Studies”.

Young Talent V is the fifth in a series of exhibitions that was inaugurated in 1985 and seeks to give national exposure to some of Jamaica’s most promising and exciting young artists.

The 2010 EU Film Festival is on now in Kingston from May 6 to 18. Staged as a major cultural event, the festival returns this year with an ambitious scope of European countries represented with major films that have proven to be successful in the European cinema.
